- I finally saw Napoleon Dynamite last night, and it really wasn’t all that funny. The characters were definitely out there, and I guess just the characters in general were what made the movie mildly entertaining. There are about five minutes of footage after the credits, and I thought that was the funniest part. I’d give the movie a C-.
- I haven’t had time to watch many movies lately, and it seems like when I get a chance to watch them I end up being disappointed with them. That was the case for Napoleon Dynamite, Meet the Fockers, and Constantine. I did like National Treasure though. Can anyone recommend a good movie to me, so I don’t end up wasting my time?
- I’d better get a new monitor soon. It was making a nasty smell again last night like it’s getting too hot, and the horizontal size and position isn’t holding anymore. Hopefully those aren’t toxic fumes being emitted.
- Since nobody has come up with the correct song yet from yesterday’s lyrics, I won’t be posting any new songs today. Somebody has to know yesterday’s song.

I'm disappointed you didn't enjoy Napolean Dynamite.
I can't say I loved it the first tim either.
I suggest you watch again, under the following circumstances.
1) Make sure you have a few drink in you.
2) Watch with at least 2 other people, Holly not included. A bonus would be watching with others who can actually quote parts of the movie.
3) Don't be distracted by the actual storyline or music. Just appreciate the oddness of many of the characters and the subtle things that make this movie great.
4) Make sure you're already in a good mood when watch. It wont bring sunshine to an already dark day.
Uncle Rico is awesome. Notice how he pushes his muscles from underneath each arm when sitting at the diner. And how sincere and clueless he is. And how he embelishes about HS football.
My favorite scene is him throwing the steak in Napolean's face.
"Now that's what I'm talkin' about!"
I think Napoleon is one of those movies that gets better with each viewing. That's been the case with me, but then again I really enjoyed it the first time I saw it too.
Spinning Wheel.
Movies of the last few years have generally been pretty bad. Lately, I've been thirsting for a little more that doesn't fit into the comedy or action epic categories. I guess part of turning 30 is not being quite as turned on by movies targetted to 14-29 year olds. But, for what's out there, some good-but-not-great movies -- Confidence (a "caper" movie), Identity (a good film until you get the trick and you don't need to care anymore), and The Life Aquatic (which is technically a comedy, but is very dry and is helped some by the adventuresome quality of it, plus Bill Murray.)
Of course, after you didn't like "Zorro the Gay Blade," I really don't know what to do with you.
I had my money on you knowing the song Dan, good work. I totally forgot about that Zoro movie, but I did remember that Bordello of Blood was crap. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
I'm going to end up watching Napoleon Dynamite again because Holly was mad I didn't watch it with her. Uncle Rico was pretty funny. I got a kick out of him living in 1982 and bragging about his football skills. His videotapes were the best though. That was the only time in the movie I actually laughed out loud.
I have a movie you should go see.
Brokeback Mountain.

And I'm glad you're watching Napolean Dynamite again. "Gosh! Idiot!"
You didn't like Zoro the Gay Blade? What the..... that was hillarious! There is no hope for you.
I agree - I'm a huge fan of Harold and Kumar go to white castle. The outtakes and deleted scenes are a riot too!
Hey Kahn, there's a great movie called "The Kentucky Fried Movie" you should watch. Ever heard of it? :) Oh wait, you said a 'good movie'...
OK, here are some of the movies I've liked lately. I'm only recommending H & K go to Whitecastle if you're in a really goofy mood, it's a really cheesy movie that will make you laugh if you're only watching it to laugh. If you watch it expecting a "good" movie you will be dissappointed.
The Longest Yard - Pretty good combination of comedy and football. Adam Sandler is always good for a laugh, and there are a lot of cameos in the movie.
Batman Begins - I think this one comes out on video on Tuesday. I think it's the best Batman movie yet.
Wedding Crashers - Not on video yet, but it's probably at the cheap theater. This is just a classic allong the same caliber as Old School. Definatly worth a watch if you havn't seen it. It will be out on video soon I'm sure.
