- For the first time in my life I had milk spoil on me and experienced the awful smell that goes with it. It reminded me a lot of the smell of Payton’s messy diapers.
- VH1 has another “I Love the 80’s” series on this week. This time it’s “I Love the 80’s 3D,” and I was impressed with all the stuff I remembered from 1980 and 1981 (Pepsi Challenge, Intellivision, “You Can’t Do That on Television”, etc). I was only 4, 5, and 6 during these years. In honor of yet another 80’s pop culture nostalgia show I’m listening to my 80’s playlist this morning.
- While watching TV last night, I saw a commercial for Name That Tune 80’s Edition DVD Game. I really want this game, but I don’t think anyone would want to play me because I’d totally dominate at it. Schall-ange? (Cosby show reference when Bill was in a tap dancing duel, for those who didn’t catch it or if it wasn’t clear in print.)
- Well nobody even took a stab at the last lyrics I posted, “If the shoe fits, I want you to wear it and wear it good.” That was Tony! Toni! Tone!, “If I had no Loot,” circa 1993. So with that in mind, I’ll make the lyrics a little easier today.
- Today’s lyrics: “F: So what are you doing back? M: Well, I sat back and thought about the things we used to do. It really meant a lot to me. You mean a lot to me. F: I really mean that much to you? M:….”

Your song is That Which Shall Not Be Named, by The Band That Shall Not Be Spoken Of. Why was their music so popular when they were good-looking, but not when they were a bunch of fat, ugly people? And I know I keep harping on this, by why was The Village so earth-shatteringly awful?
And, Pepsi Challenge, Intellivision, and You Can't Do That on Television may have all been introduced in '80-'81, but they all hung around for much longer.
I'm kind of relieved, in a weirded out way, that somebody other than me still uses that line from the Cosby Show.
I'm disgusted with myself that this is the first time I've been able to identify any of the lyrics you've posted, and it's a Milli Vanilli song of all things. I must say though that "Blame It on the Rain" is lyrically superior to "Girl You Know It's True."
Gotta blame it on the rain...
'cuz the RAIN. DON'T. MIND.
I have not seen The Village, and I probably won't due to what I've heard.
Good point on why I remember those things from '80-'81, you're probably right. I know we didn't get Nickelodeon until the late 80's anyway.
I didn't mind the Village. I do mind getting reminded of Milli Vanilli.... you should have stuck with Menudo and I wouldn't have gotten so upset:)
I had an intellivision 2. My first exposure to Pitfall and Burger Time
I liked The Village. Shame on me, I guess.
It had a unigue big twist near the end... nothing like any of M Knight Shamalamadingdongs other movies.
If you leave milk sit out for a week, it turns into cottage cheese.
