Quick Thoughts 4/26

  • Hungry for Happy Joe’s pizza, but don’t have a location where you live?  No problem, now you can have one delivered in the mail.  I am going to have to give this a try sometime.
  • CNN just did ran a series on the worst songs of all time.  Be sure to read the related articles as well.  I can agree with some of the choices, (i.e. Hollaback Girl) but I can tell I’m in trouble for actually liking some of the songs that made the list.  I think it’s about time for me to come up with another Kahn’s top 10 music list.  Perhaps, my top 10 least favorite songs.  That will be a tough one.
  • I like Nickelback, but this is a real eye-opener.  I guess their songs really do sound the same.  The song roadmap is identical on “How you Remind Me” and “Someday.”  Wow.
  • Brett Favre is reportedly coming back for one more losing season.  Perhaps he will set some sort of interception record next year, if the Bears don’t knock him out for the season after the first game.
  • We sign our papers to close on the old house today.  The buyer signs Friday.  Yep, Slider is buying my house.
  • That reminds me of my brief stint as the mascot of the Clinton Lumber Kings.  It lasted only two days because I couldn’t stand the heat.  Those mascot costumes are freaking hot.  At least I can say that I was the very first “Louie the Lumber King!”

Ha, ha! That Nickleback thing was awesome. I've always thought a lot of their songs are the same. This guy should do one for Creed too.

I was a little surprised by some of the classics in the worst songs list, however there was also a lot that belonged on there.

Upon a second listen to that Nickelback site, the songs were slightly manipulated to line up exactly. Still, it was a good illustration.

I also read the details of ordering the Happy Joe's pizza a little more carefully, and I don't think I'll be trying that. Minimum order of three pizzas, which will be about $60, and THEN about $50 for shipping costs. I like the pizza, but not enough to pay $35 or more per pizza. Yikes.

Cheaper to just drive over to La Crosse and get one when you want one. Then you could hit an LSO concert while you're there;) No, not ELO.... LSO!

My Happy Joe's delivery mechanism is my mother. You can get them half cooked, so you can freeze them and finish them off at home. They end up nearly the quality of dining in. Also, you can buy bottles of their taco sauce, which will make your homemade tacos into the world's best. (Despite being close enough to Geno's, Giordano's, Lou Malnatti's, and Pizzeria Uno to eat my share of the best of Chicago Pizza, there are times where Happy Joe's is simply just what's required.)

I needed to listen to precisely one Nickelback song before determining that every one of their songs sounds the same.
